About Peter Bethlenfalvy
Since his election by the people of Pickering-Uxbridge in 2018, Peter Bethlenfalvy has been committed to supporting the hard-working people in his riding and across Ontario, both as an MPP, and as a Member of Premier Ford’s Cabinet, first as President of the Treasury Board, and now as the Province’s Minister of Finance.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, to Hungarian immigrants, Peter earned his bachelor’s degree in physiology, Masters of Business Administration from McGill University, and a Masters in Political Science from the University of Toronto.
Peter has had a successful career in business and finance, and has served as the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Risk Officer at CST Consultants Inc, helping Canadian families invest in a better future for their children by making it easier to save for post-secondary education with expert guidance, reliable RESP options, and a proven investment approach.
In addition, he has previously held other significant leadership roles including Senior Vice-President of Financial Regulation at Manulife Financial, Co-President of DBRS Ltd and, President and Chief Operating Officer of TD Securities in New York.
After a long business career, Peter decided to enter the political realm.
It was his experience in the financial world that drove Peter to run for public office in order to get Ontario’s finances back on track. He recognized that economic prosperity can be attained through growth, not painful tax hikes or cuts to services and believes in a better future for everyone in Ontario.
Peter is a proud advocate for the people of Pickering-Uxbridge, and with your support he will return to Queen’s Park in June and continue to rebuild Ontario under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford.
